هو : - أبو علي ال�*سن أبن الهيثم , المعروف بابن الهيثم

ولد في البصرة سنة 0354 هجري , طرق شتى أنواع المعرفة مثل الفلسفة و المنطق و الطب و الفلك و البصريات و الرياضيات , وستخدم أنماطآ جديدة من الفكر العلمي الاصيل .

له مائتي مؤلف بالأضافة إلى الرسائل الفكرية والمقالات , يعرفه الشرق و الغرب .

توفي سنة 0430 هجري .
